About This Blog

Who is this blog for?
For everyone struggling.
For anyone outcast or lonely.
Those with no friends,
no job, no education.
Others with questions
who never get answers.
The hungry, the overwhelmed.
Single parents maxed out.
Old folks left out.
Anyone needing a respite,
a break, a do-over.
Those who aren’t loved
by those who should love them.
The bullied and the bullies.
All who long for God or at least some sense of cosmic justice.
The empty and the overfull.
Those disappointed by churches and religion.
Those who are dying on the inside for lack of love.
The spiritual but not religious.
It’s for us.
All of us.
That’s who this blog is for.

About The Title

Welcome to this blog. Its title–living these days–is culled from a favorite old hymn, God of Grace and God of Glory.* Each of its five verses ends with a different, yet rousing, call for God’s support and direction. Verse 2 ends thus:

“Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
For the living of these days.
For the living of these days.”

*Words by Harry Emerson Fosdick, 1930
